NY Giants Visit Reformed Church Home
Members of the New York Giants football team and Bob's Discount
Furniture store surpised us with a Random Act of Kindness visit on
September 13. Ryan Perrilloux, #17, Quarter Back, and Dave Tollefson, #71, Defensive End, walked floor to floor greeting residents
and handing out caps and t-shirts. There were many hugs and tears going around. Ken Richmond, Manager, Bob's Discount Furniture, Paramus, had yet another surprise as Bob's donated 2 motorized recliner chairs for our Assisted Living residents. A warm thank you to the Giants and Bob's Discount Furniture..

Reformed Church Home Deficiency-Free Again!
We did it again! Kate Shepard, Executive Director/Admin-
istrator, is proud to announce a 2011 Skilled Nursing
Deficiency-Free Survey from the NJ Department of Health
and Senior Services. "We have a truly amazing staff
from maintenance to dietary to activities to nursing whose
sole focus is the health and well-being of our residents. Their
dedication to our residents is reflected in this deficiency-free rating." Among only a handful for Skilled Nursing facilities that is rated deficiency-free, Reformed Church Home also earned a deficiency-free Skilled Nursing rating in 2010.

Reformed Church Home Announces Another Deficiency-Free Survey
Kate Shepard, Executive Director/Administrator, proudly announced another deficiency-free Skilled Nursing survey result. Conducted by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, the survey encompasses all aspects of resident care as well as the facility's procedures and practices. Medical records are inspected, residents and staff interviewed, and resident care observed. Only a very small percent of facilites are rated deficiency-free in any given year.

CMS Awards RCH 5-Stars in 2009 Nursing Home Rating
Reformed Church Home proudly announces another 5-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The 5-star overall quality rating is the highest rating that can be awarded to a nursing home. It is based on the ratings given to a facility for Health Inspections, Quality Measures, and Staffing. Since only 10% of nursing homes are awarded 5-Stars, this rating differentiates Reformed Church Home from most of its peers. For additional information, please access www.medicare.gov.

RCH Declared Finalist in NJBIZ Healthcare Heroes Program
NJBIZ magazine declared Reformed Church Home a Finalist, Nursing Home/Assisted Living Facility of the Year, in their 2009 Healthcare Heroes Program. This program recognizes individuals, organizations, and facilities that demonstrate heroic actions in the healthcare industry. LInda Root, daughter and niece of 2 former residents, submitted the nomination which read in part:

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) just released quality ratings for each of the nation’s 15,800 nursing homes that participate in Medicare or Medicaid. Consulting with a panel of experts from academia, patient advocacy and nursing home provider groups, CMS developed the rating system based on each nursing home’s performance in three critical areas: health inspection surveys, quality measures, and staffing.
